Ventura, CA (October 15, 2003) Magnuson Products, manufacturer of superchargers and supercharger systems for foreign and domestic vehicles, is pleased to announce the availability of the newly designed, intercooled supercharger system for C5 and Z06 Corvettes. Intercooled kits are available in silver powdercoat and polished finishes
This all-new intercooled supercharger system utilizes the Magna Charger MP112 supercharger with internal bypass valve. Torque and horsepower output is improved from 1500 rpm to 6500 rpm, giving more “power under the curve” than any other supercharger system available, horsepower increases of 150 and torque increases of equal amounts have been verified on chassis dynomometers.
Intercooled C5 and Z06 supercharger systems are complete with all components necessary for installation. Included in the kit is the cast aluminum intake manifold and all necessary hardware to complete the entire installation. Other components in the system include new fuel injectors and extruded aluminum fuel rails, coolant circulation pump, intercooler core and heat exchanger. Factory “push lock connectors” are utilized in the fuel system for ease of installation.
The included computer programmer communicates with the factory ECU for proper calibration the of the supercharger system. Transmission shift points, line pressures and torque converter strategies are optimized for use with the increase in torque and horsepower. Optional extended powertrain warranty is available for customer piece of mind. Intercooler upgrades are available for owners of the non-intercooled C-5 kits.

Hopefully this will alleviate the knock retard issues most of us experienced when pumping in hot air.

Just my opinion, but if they wait to long to come to market....the kenne bell whipple might just eat up all their potential customers on the complete kit and the only customers will be their existing customers for a retro-fit looking to up the boost and sustain the hp levels longer before the IAT's go soaring!!!

A couple of questions: First, how much additional boost will the intercooler allow; Second, will the coolant reservoir fit for those using a top post Optima battery? Any ideas?

Re: More intercooled Mag info from Magnacharger's website (SilverC5inOhio)
Perhaps I am way off but my first impression when I saw it was that the battery was relocated to the trunk. I did not think a reservoir that shallow would have enough coolant volume to really make a difference in temps.
Am I way off???

Re: More intercooled Mag info from Magnacharger's website (99C5ragtop)
I think it's going to be a tight fit/won't fit with a top mount battery. The tank doesn't have to be to big. This is a picture of the engine compartment on my '02 8.1 Suburban -
The coolant tank is attacted to the passenger's side of the firewall next to the air duct running to the box. There is coolant in the tank and also in the lines that run to the heat exchanger. The intercooler on this truck is good for about 35-40hp. It made 407hp/558ft-lb torque.

Re: More intercooled Mag info from Magnacharger's website (99C5ragtop)
The coolant tank will hold about half a gallon of coolant. This system will produce 7# of boost and intake temps will be about 60 degrees cooler than the non-intercooled system (based on the truck RADIX kit).
More details coming soon! :)
