I just purchased a nitrous express kit for my 2000 hardtop. I am installing it in a few weeks and i need some help with the shot. What is the most i should run with a stock motor? I have a borla stinger and a vortex ram air kit. It is gonna be mainly once in a while street use and a couple of track runs, nothing major. It is a wet shot by the way.Thanks for any help!

150 is the max, I would go 100 to stay safe. Given your screen name, I am guessing that you are younger. If you blow your motor with a big shot, would you be able to afford to replace? Stay fairly small, and it will last.

100 shot with colder plugs, tune, and highest octane gas you can get.

I guarantee you will use it alot more then just every once in awhile. This stuff is crazy addicting. Like the above said if you dont have the money to replace something from a big shot I would not go above a 100. That will be plenty for ya. Have fun with it and dont forget to get rid of those platium plugs for some copper plugs.

thanks alot guys! I think i am gonna go with a 75 to 100 shot till i get some mods. Really appreciate it. Also, i am 20 so i dont have the cash to be replacing big stuff like blown motors and intakes. Thanks again!

I think 100 shot should be safe, I ran a whole season with my stock bottom end without any problems! Just install a window switch to be safe.

Is your car an A4 or M6 gearbox?

I have a 1999 with A4, NX 150 wet shot, TPIS Long tube Headers, Random Race Tech. Cats, Supersprint exhaust, Blackwing Air filter, Getrag 3:73 Gears, M/T 26 - 11,5 - 17" ET Streets.

Problem is the gearbox if you run a setup like that and have grip, your gearbox won't last long! After going to 150 shot with my M/T ET streets it took 6 days and my gearbox was totally trashed!!!!!

I have almost the same exact setup (Michelin Sports though and 3.42's). I haven't been to the track yet but plan to in a few weeks. Have you been to the track and if so what did you run in the 1/4?

I have no time slips with this set-up because of the gearbox breakdown...

But last season with totally stock car (3:15 gears) except 100 shot nitrous (Yokohama AVS Sport Street tires) my best time was 12,34 on the quartermile.

Hope to get a 11 sec run this summer with new tranny...
