Use a 6L (MLS) gasket for a 6L head... GM part # 12569365. It does not show up on GM Parts Direct website but I know it to be a valid GM part number... as I have the gasket sitting in front of me...

Why do some tuners use Conetic (spelling is wrong I know) and others use MLS. Is one that much better than the other. I know my tuner picked the Con. ones for my 6.0 heads. I think MDMC using Con. also.

Hi John, the problem is that with the stock GM gasket is only available in 1 bore size and .054 thickness when the Cometics have different bores and thicknesses available for different combos. I try to use the stock GM gaskets whenever I can because I feel they are better then any aftermarket gasket.

That would explain why you sound like you have a clue once in a while..

GM MLS gaskets all the way when possible. And they are dirt cheap compared to others.

Oh well, since my engine is built I am stuck with my Con. gaskets at this time. Is there any negative to having them? I will only have 10psi with my FI. See, I learned something new again...Thanks Doug...wait I mean Chris... & Phil.

Jon,
Cometic gaskets are a great gasket. Hell, we've pushed 14psi of boost through a Darton Sleeve block with a 4.125 bore and the Cometic MLS gaskets held. But I agree with Phil... GM produces an equal quality, if not better, multi-layer steel gasket.
