Well, not to give you false hope. But, VIN's can be read wrong. My fathers truck has the vin of a 4x4 but his truck is a 2x4. The ins even had to come to the house and physically look under the truck beofre they would believe it. So, either the guy is pulling a fast one or it is really an 03. Anyhow, if you don't have the means to be able to do some constant maintenance for about a year or so, I would pass on it. Not trying to squeeze you out at all just don't want you to make a mistake and regret it. If yo are capable to do the work yourself then by all means but, if you need to ay someone to help I would pass. Just trying to help you out. HTH, Andy

No problems lol. anyway here is the carfax report. i sprang for the 24 dollars so if anyone needs anything hit me up. the carfax is interesting anyone paying attention to this thread needs to check this out
BTW does anyone have there vin handy? I would like to know if the carfax would identifya corvette as a ZO6 or not , because this carfax does not say anything about ZO6
If it's a 2001 MY, it will be the 385hp which has NO HUD so it's easy to tell. The 2002 on Z06 has a HUD as stock. Your carfax doesn't mention a HUD so it could be a 2001 with 50th badges stuck on. As for being a Z06, the code sheet on the door should specify the engine as the LS6.
The Z06 leaks less due to it having a fixed roof. It can leak through the door not being closed properly but the fuses are behind the passenger footboard so check it's not been affected. Condensation can only occur as described by water leaking into the car. I have a Z28 which I keep outside in the UK winter and it never has condensation on any of the interior windows.

It's a Z06! You can tell that from the "S" in the VIN. The "S" indicates that the car was manufactured with an LS6 engine (=Z06)
The 10th character in the VIN tells the year. "1" means that it is a 2001.

C6 has a changed design for the seating of windows to prevent water seepage. A C5 left out this long may leak and is not unusual. You may also experience condensation inside the windows as the rear storage area has an open drain hope which will let moisture in especially over a two month period. As for the rust on the brakes, bare exposed metal will oxidize big time. Get a spray bottle fill it up with coke and spray away. leave on for at least an hour and respray every 15 min.Than hose off well and drive away. Amazing we actually drink this stuff! Shorty antenna at auto part $12 bucks. New Z06 screens Mid-America lke 30 or 40 bucks. If you getting a killer deal and car fax is okay, just have it checked out. As far as the hood, get your check book out. The many aftermaket ones available are sweet, not cheap though.
Good Luck and hope it works out.
