hey guys who has the best gps nav system and what is the best location to put it .i stopped and looked in a new vert yesterday and the car had one in it .i really liked that ,i drive alot on weekends to relax and that was an option i could really use.thanks for all your replies.buy the way my car is a 02 vert
I picked up the Nav-1 by Cobra. It has the entire US & Canada on it and you can take it from car to car which is nice since my Expedition or Mountianeer dont have factory nav
Good system and the nav side is accurate. The CD player is not the greatest quality if you're an audio nut but works for me. The remote is a waste of $$ in the Vert as the moding is not very good.
I just bought the new sirf III globalsat bluetooth gps for $170. It can be placed anywhere in the car or even carried in your pocket. My palm with the new mapopolus navcard connects easily without cords and is very portable. The new navcard has all the street level maps of the US on one 1 gid sd card. I take my palm with me , so I may dedicate an old ipaq with a bluetooth cf card as an in car gps.

I have the same unit with the same problem. Changed the speakers with MB Quarts and JL Amp and the sound is now great. Are you still running the Bose speakers?
I vote for the TomTom Go, just did 15 states and 4000 miles on mine.
care to post some pics on it?
i like the pioneer one also but...tom tom and a ipod...why overlap and waste money? (ie why have a pioneer when all the songs are all ready on your pod)
disclaimer: ive only added the ipod2car, no sat nav for me yet... another option is the bluetooth gps unit and a laptop...but i like the idea of the latest pioneer getting traffic condition updates...does the tom tom do this?

Yes I am.
That said, after 30 years around jet engines I'm high tone deaf now. I think I'll live with it!
I have been extremely happy with my Garmin 2610. I put a 2GB compact flash memory card in it and loaded all the maps for the US and Canada. The 2620 is the same unit only it is preloaded with the same maps on a micro-drive.
