Default Those With Partitions...

I love my partition, but ever since I put it in, I get tired of the interior being so dark at night. As any of you who have one know, it covers up the light coming from the rear cargo area. I have been kicking around the idea of putting interior lights in the outside edges of it and tying them into the cargo area interior lights. I figured I'd use some sort of quick connect with them and hide the wires under the interior trim. That way they'd be easy to disconnect if I ever want to remove the partition.

My problem has been finding a light that will look nice. Has anyone else out there done this (or thought about it.) If so, where did you find the light? I've checked at the local auto parts stores, and don't see anything that will work. Any ideas?

I was thinking about putting the lights in the upper corners of the partition:

Interesting suggestion. I could find a mod like this useful.

I dont see why you would want light in the cabin, i personally would like it as dark as possible, it makes it impossible for people to look in the car if you have limo tint and very little light inside.

I would also do it. Maybe tie in to the rear corner lights.

Hi, Tom...
Great photo of the partition. Did you install for noise reduction , and if so, how well does it work? Which vendor did you get it from?

I would do it with LEDs. They are bright and they are small.

Best bet is to head down to the local Radio Shack and talk to the geeks down there.

Great minds think alike. Over at Menards (our local home improvement store) they sell a 9 LED light that they call a "Puck Light" for under the kitchen counter use. It's pre-wired and takes 12 volts from a transformer they sell. I picked one up and was going to wire it with a plug and put it in front of the partition. I'm sure what ever home store is in your area would have something similar. I just liked that it was 12V ready. I can post more info later.

Not sure what light you are referring to? My trunk lid blocks out any light in that area already

I'm talking about interior lights, like when you open the door (like a dome light.) I mean for convenience, not while driving the car.

That's what I was thinking. That way the new lights would come on with the rest of the interior courtesy lights.

Yeah, it's to cut down the interior growl. With long tubes, no cats and Stingers, it's plenty loud. It works pretty good. I got mine from Ecklers, but there are plenty of other suppliers out there that have 'em.

Default We have pondered the idea!

Years ago we thought there may be a need to offer an OEM light that looks factory.

Back in 2002 we researched many kinds from - Mazda,Porsche even Gm.

I will look back at my notes and see what I can find.

By the way ,That is one of our partitions.

In the marine industry there is a lot of lighting that can be easily integrated .

Some even look nice!

They really do cut down on the noise. I was pleasantly surprised when I put one in.

Lot of supporting vendors selling them out there like

www.exoticvette.com

www.ecklers.com

Try one, you'll like it.

I turn off all the dash lights and just use the HUD... less distractions...

Default Particiona

If one installs a partician, is there still room enough for a stereo box? If so, would it go in front or behind the partician?

Default Subwoofer

It goes behind the partition.Bass is undirectional and will still play through. Also you will get less cone distortion(unwanted noise) when a partition is installed.
