Ramps for oil change?
Hey all, I was looking to get a set of ramps to help change my oil on my 01. It looks like the rhino ramps are the ramp of choice on the forum but I found a set of ramps at the local Menards (home improvement store) for $19.99. They give a 6'' lift and have a 15 degree incline and appear to have an 8'' width. Does anyone know if these specs are close to the rhinos or if I will have problems trying to get my car onto these? Thanks!

I don't know, I use 1X4's and then jack it up!

I use rhino ramps, they are just great I have 4 of them, I drive up on the two of them and then jack up the rear on the car, and slid the other two ramps under the rear tires, now I have enough room to use my creeper under the wh9le car, and it is level so I can check and change fluids

I have ramps but for my last oil change I didn't want to move the car out of the garage so I just took off the driver's side front tire, pulled the drain plug and filter and put the tire back on and lowered the car. When it stopped draining, I did it again to put the plug and filter in. A bit more work but it wasn't that bad. - C.

The thing you have to look for is the weight rating for the ramps and the width of tire it will accept. I've had no problems with my Rhino Ramps and they are rated at 12000 lbs.

you know.. there are these new inventions called "jack stands". just something you might want to consider using.. another benefit is they're adjustable so you can even lift them higher than the front ramps! hehe

i thought of why as well, but then i figured, maybe he just wants to lift the car from one point/placement position and lower onto the ramps and not have to worry about putting the jack stand in the 'wrong spot'
