Honestly there have been people here who have driven in hard rain for quite sometime and never had a problem. The only fear is should you drive through standing water deeper than the foglight openings.
seriously, the thing doesnt "suck" up anything!! ive driven in horrible rain storms here in FL and never had a problem. the only way you will have a problem is if you submerge the whole entire nose of the car into water. hopefully you can avoid things like that
I love my vararam, but I don't drive the car in rain as a general rule. I did get caught in a major thunderstorm downpour last week and had no problem, but you do have to avoid deep puddles or flooded areas. To me, the horsepower is well worth the minor risk.
I've had VaraRams installed in both of my C5's. The 2000 was a daily driver and I posted hundreds of miles driving in and around Houston. If you are not familiar with the area...it's going to rain just about every day down there. I have driven in heavy rain (actually downpours) with no problem. I personally believe the hydrolock thing is a bit over rated. If I'm not mistaken....don't you use some form of water injection system when you use a super charger?

If you're really worried about it, just drill a couple extra holes in the bottom of it like I did. 5/32' size drill bit is about the same size as the already drilled hole.
Also, you could get some Z06 screens for the front too.
The VR-B2 has been redesigned to address concerns with water intake. I have a B2, driven in torrential rains, driven through deep puddles, and my car is LOWERED -- NEVER a problem!! I have the Z06 screens for function and looks. The VR is AWESOME!! Worth the extra $$ IMO.
thanks a lot...i'm going to go purchase it now...oh yeah, what about weiand's polished aluminum intake manifold? I heard that adds about 20hp and its good for future boosting...anyone know anything about this product???
