It sounds like you are in the same boat some of us are in without protection. The sand from the road gets on the tires and basically sandblasts the paint away while the tires are turning. The only thing you can do is get some of the clear plastic protectors that go behind the tires mounted to the rear of each wheelwell, or some ugly mud flaps. How do your sideview mirrors look? If it hasn't happened to them yet, you will notice it in the future.

i have a black z06, and the area behind each wheel is getting "sandblasted" by road debris. can't bring myself to do the mudflap thing, and i think it's too late for the clearplastic, since the damage is already done. i have been using that colored wax to cosmetically hide it in those areas, and eventually, i'll need some touchup paint work - the colored wax does a good job, but it takes several coats to hide the effected areas.

It would be nice if someone would come out with a CF piece, the lip like thing on the C6 Zo6...

yeah, im retarded, it was some sort of funky road tar that i didnt see on the car before we started washing it. when it got wet it really looked like the paint was dissolving. came off the next day with some instant detailer after it had dried. thanks for the responses.
