Default C6 Rolled on Test Drive - 86 mi. on the Clock - For Sale

Could you imagine the look on the salesman's face when he got back from this test drive! Better yet, what his shorts looked like. The guy taking it for a test drive must have really wanted to see what it could do......86 miles, amazing.

I will say this, looks like the vette (C6 or not) held up well in the accident. I know this, if I was the salesperson that handed out those keys, I would be sick and probably lookinf for another job afterr being FIRED!

Now, if I recall correctly, these pictures have been posted before. But, I certainly agree with you: It is just amazing how something like this could occur, and, with such extensive damage. There must be stains on the seats where those guys sat and "shat". Wow.

Default New Orleans is Readily Repairable too!

Readily Repairable?!!! Yea, It'll just buff out! I can't imagine buying that to repair but what do I know? It will be easy to spot going down the street at a 25 degree angle.

And how exactly does one roll a vette? I mean if you take a turn in an 85 izzuzu trooper too fast your gonna end up upside down, but in a vette, wouldent you just spin out?

well, vettes have a stiff suspension and they are low to the ground... on pavement thats a spin out, sliding off a road and hitting a ditch... a stiff suspension like that will grab the wet grass and sling it, and once something that light starts spinning, it gets tossed about.

i dont know about other places but you need valid insurance to test drive cars here ... so if you damage the car .. guess what! you bought it.

I sold cars while in college. I was told that about 5 salespersons die a year in "test" drives. I tried to keep the customers in residential neighborhoods making right turns.

That poor vette what a short life it had. This is very sad to see its life ending this early.

And ppl wonder why some dealers wont give test drives???

Salesman do profile potential buyers. If the potential buyer fits the profile of the average vette owner( 40s and 50s), then yes a test drive is in order if the salesman is in the right seat.

It was unfortunite that the driver of the car was unqualifed to drive the vette or he would have not rolled the car.

IMHO, the Dealership and the salesman was at fault equally as the driver

The Dealership for not properly training the salesman, The Saleman for not useing good judgment and going with the potential buyer. Then the driver for thinking he could drive, which he couldn't.

Here's what I think happened:

buyer "I have always wanted to drive a Corvette, and now that I won all this money, I can finally buy one. Do you think I can take this baby on a test drive?"

salesman "We don't usually do this, but it is my first day, and I have laways wanted to ride in one, so sure!"

buyer "what is active handling? Can I turn it off?"

salesman "I don't know. I think it is something for winter driving. It couldn't hurt to turn it off on this sunny day."

buyer "Let's take her on the interstate!"

salesman "We have a small test-drive loop that allows you to drive on the interstate, just get on this long sweeping onramp."

buyer "WooHoo, this thing has power! Whoa!"

policeman "What happened?"

buyer "This car is defective, I think I will stick with my Honda Civic, it has plenty of power for me."

Salesman "I am going back to selling lawnmowers at Lowes."

Seriously, every dealership I have ever gone to has stories of test drives gone wrong. It is a huge risk for the dealerships and salesmen.

Wow, all that from seeing a few pics of the car.

You really should become an accident investigator.
