Default help with a header question...

I've decided to start my modding off slowly with just headers and the Varaam intake. I want to eventually do a cam/head swap. While shopping online, they have one header for a stock cam and one header for an aftermarket one. Which one should i do? I want to run my catalytic converters so is there any other thing i can add to make a little more power, like a midpipe or something. Forgive me if these questions seems stupid, I've finally seen the light and given up on the import game. Thanks, Jeremy

Which headers were you looking at? As far as I know, type of headers doesn't have anything to do with what cam you have.

I have TPIS LT headers stock cats and stock Ti exhaust. You could get set of LT headers and X-pipe (if money is no object, then get better flowing cats as well) to increase the flow for bit more HP and should improve exhaust note little bit.

There are many type of LT headers so spend some time and gather all the info you need to make that final decision to go with whatever brand you ultimately decided to go with.

I was shopping on the corvette forum store, that's where it said this. I think it was 1 3/4 is for cars with intakes, the 1 7/8 is for aftermarket cam shafts. Does that 1/8 inch make too much of a difference?

With the mod levels you are talking you are going to want to stick with the 1 3/4.

If your not planning on going ***** out which if your doing heads and cam later so you probably are then the Dynomax's come with cats and seem like a nice bolt on affair.

I had Kooks on my F-body and the quality was top notch I heard they are a absolute PITA to install in the C5 but have not actually done it myself.

I chose LG long tubes with Random tech Cats and I would personally not do it another way. They are very high quality (made by Borla) and installing was a BREEZE. Word of advice get a exact quote if your going to have them installed, but I recommend installing them yourself if your mechanically inclined. IMHO unless you are well off installing your own mods is the way to go cause once you start modding it, its going to require more maintainence then a stock car...in other words crap breaks
