Got bumped at lunch ...

When he got out I said, "Hey ... you just hit my car". He said "No I didn't." So I told him to come look, and he did and got convinced. It didn't do much damage ... just a couple of paint chips and a permanent "dent" in the license plate cover, but damage nevertheless. He offered me $20 to walk away, but of course I refused.
After getting his name, insurance info, etc., I went on to lunch, then went by a couple of shops. One wanted $125 to repaint, the other (the Chevy dealer) wants $125 to replace the cover and paint. The guy wants to not get his insurance company involved, which is fine if he pays the bill.
I think he just found out how **** Vette owners are ... no scratches allowed.

You should of offered him $50 to put your foot up his AZZ, What nerve some people have. I would of called the cops and had a ticket issued to that cheap bastard

20 Flippen Bucks. This aint a HONDA buddy.
$20 is exactly what my wife took from a guy who bumped the rear of her Honda Civic and left a couple scratches... Not allowed with the 'Vette, though!!!

Gary,I'm sorry you got hit but I'm glad it was minor. I hope it all works out for you and the guy settles up. Good luck with the resolution. Let us know how it turns out.

The kid did not want to do the insurance thing so I got a couple of quotes.
The damage was very minor, it broke the back up light lens and a small scuff on bumper cover.
Estimates were near $1000 +-$100
The kid decided not to return my calls so I went to his insurance company which ened up costing them $750 bucks instead of the $1000 I was quoted.
So, when they say $125 to fix a scuff, I would not beleive them.
$20? What was he thinking?
