The Grond Chronicles : Impromptu Mod Party & EG meets a Legend !! [dialup death]
So my plan for today was to install all 4 wheel bearings, change to Hawk Performance brake pads and install 4 Earl braided brake lines. This is all prepatory work for the upcoming coilovers and T1 sways install next weekend and the C6 Z06 front and rear brakes when they become easily available.
Originally, just Connecticut and Bill Curlee were coming over to give me a hand and Bill was bringing over some winter tyres for my beater.
So Connecticut turns up in his 98 coupe just after I got the car airborne - and he says to me "I hope you don't mind but Turbo1k is coming over". I said "The more the merrier, tell him to come on down". So Turbo1k turns up about 30 minutes later in his 99 FRC and we get to work at hand.
While we are spinning wrenches, Connecticut drops another bombshell. He says quite casually "Rick Moroso is dropping by to pick up the Ti cat backs". I say "What????? Rick Moroso of THE MOROSO"???
CT says, "Yes".
And yep - the legend turns up - Rick Moroso himself. I'm pretty speechless. Rick is way cool and says "It's all my Dad" but I'm like Rick Moroso - in my driveway. Wow!!
After Rick leaves, we get back to work, and then I hear what sound like loud decel from a Vette, and I think "Ah, that must be Bill - but why is he bringing the Z06 - I thought he would bring his truck with the tyres"
And into my driveway turns Bill's 02 Electron Blue Z06 - and his wife's Cheryl's 4 day old 2006 blue Z51 C6
So now I'm like really - Mod Party without me planning it, complete with Legendary Mystery Guest.
After we finish my mods, CT lowers Turbo1k's Vette and all 5 of us then proceed to convoy up to Hooters for a more than 50 Vette meeting with all Forum members.
What a glorious day.
Here are some pics.

Rick is a forum member here, isn't he? I'm pretty sure I've seen him post before.
Anyways, very cool, looks like fun.
Why ya replacing all the wheel bearings? You can't have that many miles on Grond?

Afterwards, when I checked the rears, they were pretty much shot - so I decided to change all 4 while I was at it.

Now that's the way to spend a Saturday. Sure beats the heck out of mine - I had to work.
