I have a set of Kumho ECSTA RSA's and I'm looking to get the proper tire pressure. Door jam says 30psi all around which seems a little low. Car doesn't see any track use. Just looking for a good ride/handling compromise.

Doesn't matter which tire you run, follow the placard on the door - 30 psi cold on all four corners will give you the best wear characteristics and ride.
You have to calculate the temperature of the road you drive on. For instance, if it is cool outside and the tires are at set to a 30psi cold, they will heat up while driving to 34psi. If it is hot outside and the tires are set to 30psi cold, they will heat up to 36psi.
With all that said, I would run them at 32psi in the winter and 30psi in the summer. Make sure you check the pressure when the tires have been sitting for 12 hours.

How you doing, Joe? Glad to hear from you - it's been a while! Spending all your time in OT?

You go to what it tells you on the car jam inside the drivers door not to what the tires tell you.Mine is an 03 and it is 30psi alround yours should be the same........charlene

Another vote for 30psi cold. Check weekly. Also, inspect, and/or, align your vehicle every 3K, or, sooner if you strike a curb, pothole, etc. These preventative measures will help you to extract the best even tire wear, and, tire longevity (mileage) possible. Good luck to you.
I check my tires pressures every time I drive my car, that is right before I take it out of the garage. I also use 30 PSI and it seems to work best for me.

alignment every 3K
granted, your tires might last a little longer, but you'll spend more in alignments than you save in tires. I'd say once a year on a street car.
I get 45,000 miles out of a set of C5 tires...I am a Gm Engineer and I never use that product liability sticker on the door... it is very very generic....
like a few here have said... you set the tire pressure to match the conditions of driving, not what a general sticker says on the door...
tires that run all day long seeing 36/37 psi do not run like tires that see 30 psi all day long...
the difference is the conditions of the road surface.. in the summer road surfaces can get to 160 F making a 30 psi cold tire ,swell to 36/37 psi.
This is what makes the difference in mileage and tire longevity.. if you don't think this makes a difference, just ask any Nascar, Winston cup, or formula 1 crew chief how he gets the best tire life out of a set of tires, or how he can get five extra laps from the gas tank... his answer will be tire pressure..based on the track conditions. One psi can make all the difference in the world, when it comes to coming in first, or last.
The sticker was put on the door to IDIOT proof tire pressure liability because so many people were putting the max tire pressure found on the sidewall which is 44 psi.
Like I said, I get 45,000 miles from a set of tires. I never use that sticker, and I never allow my tires to exceed 30 psi "HOT".
