correct color front License plate insert
I just bought my 3rd vette and this one is a 2004 lemans coupe. I guess in NJ they use fron license plates and the first owner cannot find the insert to fill the license plate depression.
I am in Florida where we dont use fron License plates.
Does anyone know where i can ge a new or used OEM insert.....or a recomendation on who might be a competent source to paint one the correct color....??????
thanks Rick Nelson

I see electron blue is 21U and lemans blue is 19U one year only for this "blurple" color.
I hope to find one from someone in a "front plate" state Ill keep looking but I still appreciate the feedback.

Get a new surround from the dealer p/n 10288541. Use some 150 grit sandpaper to smooth the roughness out and finish sanding with some 220 and then 400 grit. Go slow to get all of the texture down. This should give you a very smooth finish to the surround.
The dealer should have 5 oz spray cans of touchup paint in stock or he should be able to order them. Just give him your paint code. Get one can and a can of primer and shoot it yourself.
If the dealer can't get the paint, go to an auto paint supply store and have them make up a can for you. a $16 oz can may run about $25 or so, but you will have enough for a variety of painting projects.

It's good you're taking the time to find the right color...
Saw a MY Vette a few weeks ago that had the front-plate filler panel that was a differnt shade than the body color. Looked really bad...like he color matched it in the dark.

You can get unpainted ones from places like Ecklers or your dealer. You may be able to get a painted one from Gene at the Karshop. A good body shop should be able to match the paint well.
