It is a common problem. The displays do tend to dim. There is a vendor on ebay that has a very high success rate at repairing them. I can't seem to find the link at this time, but I'm still looking. There are several forum members that have had his work done and were pleased. I'm hoping that one of them will chime in here with some contact info. He basically takes your unit and swaps it with a repaired one or repairs it in about a 2 day turnaround.

***edit, I see Zilla has posted the link. That should fix you up.

Just an FYI. My A/C lcd was not visible in daylight. I sent to this guy listed on ebay and could not be more pleased with his work. It is now just as bright as the clock/radio. Takes about a week total including shipping back and forth time.

I've been having a similar problem the past couple of days, but it is with the little lights behind the buttons. First, 5 went out, then the next day, more went out, and finally some are going out on my cd player. I've read a few posts about people soldering in new bulbs, but I wonder if my extended warranty would cover getting a new A/C Unit and Radio? Anyone ever had this happen? Also, does the Ebay fixer guy fix the bulbs as well as the LCD?
