WTK: Are Nitto 555Rs best Comprimise for Traction/Mileage on Street Only?
I want a tire that will last 10K+ miles and give me the best traction possible on the street. I will not drag the car with them, this is just for the street. Tire must be at least 335mm for the rear. I am about ready to get the Nitto Drag Radials, just wanted to verify that is the best way to go. Thanks guys.

Just got my nitto DR's for the rear and RII's for the front. Wow what a difference!! I'm running a stock Z for now, but it's like night and day from the GYSC's. I'd say 10,000 miles would be about the max, but then again I think it depends on how hard you push em. Brian

Well, I don't want to do burnouts anymore, infact just the opposite, I want to hit it and move. That said I expect to get at least 10K out of them not being hard on them at all, as they are advertised to go 15K.

Wish I could, but I live in Ohio. Roads are not good enough for that stiff a sidewall due to winters, plus I am not going to be flat out racing on the street and the Vette already out handles just about everything out there.

I am running Nitto RII's (285/35 ZR18 & 305/35 ZR18) on the street & on the track... amazing tire it does very well with my 485 RWHP & 515 RWTQ. However, not good in the rain, especially if worn half way down.

So becasue the RIIs are not an option for me, the DRs are the best setup for the rear of my car? Same tread as the RIIs just without the stiffer sidewall and smaller size of only 305.
What are you guys getting out of your RIIs for mileage?
