Stephen, you don't need O-rings with the late model pressure sensors. As you can see in this pic, the new sensors come equipped with a permanent (reusable) rubber seal...that stepped seal you see replaced the O-ring used on the older model sensors.

As for the mystery button....
I'm gonna guess you plan to run a small pulley on the S/C and integrate a solenoid actuated BOV on the intake plumbing, and that button will close the valve for full boost.
If not, well, you now have another idea.
