Default Pictures of the I-4 Orlando Crash

The crash results look minor except for the busted rear facia and the broken quarter panels but being on the receiving end, my neck, shoulders and arms are being nursed by some serious advil today!
From what I hear, Tim Burke can make this mess look good as new!! Glad I had my camera....I had taken several pictures at the Mod Party!

Broken right quarter panel

Buckled left quarter panel

Ouch!

Randy, that doesn't look nearly as bad as I was expecting. These cars can sure take a lick. Hope the soreness goes away soon.

Default That minor accident is going to cost abot $10 grand

Make sure they understand that the crash bar is high stregnth steel and it can not be bent back or welded. It needs to be replaced and heliarched (SP?). Also make sure the tint is correct. That is similar to my accident where the AH ran into my rear and then blaimed me for causing an accident. Also don't settle for used or after market parts. Lastly look closely at the seat. It is marginal to begin with and a bump like that destroys it.

I forgot. Don't forget to look closely at the tub, the internal box. That is easily damaged also and isn't visable. I found that even the access covers in the rear were deformed and had to be replaced.

My accident wasn't much different than your's.

Really! I see a neck brace, whiplash, and a sizeable amount of cash in your immediate future, that should ease your pain somewhat.

Sorry about your fine ride...but glad to hear you are ok.

Maybe I missed something here, but I didn't read what it was that ran into you.

That really sucks, I hate to see pics like that, seems like you could never get hit in a POS, but look out if you are in a nice car......I could care less if somebody hit my beater, but that will never happen.....

Thanks for the advice, especially on the high strength crash bar . I expect Tim Burke knows all this since that is his speciality, but I will be there to review it with him. There won't be any corner cutting. I sure hope this guy doesn't try anything funny.....pretty clear to me that he failed to control his truck....the LEO thought so after looking at the damage and writing him up.!! Heck, he was accelerating when he hit me. I looked underneath to see the exhaust pushed into the sway bar; the tub is bent as can be seen from the inside....the seat is questionable because it is out of position, the seatbelt webbing ripped loose, my CD player is probably damaged....had 11 Cd's in it....on and on... My guess would have been closer to $15K. First wreck I've had in any of my cars since I started driving 45 years ago....guess the law of averages caught up with me.

Good that you are okay. Also good that you have pics. Try to also identify as much damage that is "under" the car, as a lot will be hidden damage that you want to make sure is done right.

Keep us posted on you recovering and how you make out in getting the repairs done.

Take Care

Ray

I just saw this post Randy - bummer

Just glad you are OK, and I hope your car comes back better than new. It was great seeing you on Saturday.

Saturday was a fun day, Stephen. I might have avoided this event if I had gone to dinner with you, stangkiller and all the legends!!
