Stephen, it was good to see you and the leghumpers again.
Was a fun weekend for me. Seeing my good friend GB again, finally getting to meet Randy (EatRice) and Stuart, and also the other Fl members I'd not yet met...and on top of that, just the fantastic steak we devoured tonight made it all worthwhile. BIG thanks to Chris - Stangkiller for that idea.
You come for a few days and buy a house here, I come for a couple days and buy a Jeep here....I think we both had successful weekends.
Gonna suck leaving this warm air tomorrow, that's for sure.
Have a safe trip home.

Sounds like you and everyone had a pretty good time.
Congrats on the move ... is this a permanent thing or a winter home?
Florida is , spent the first 25 years of my life at various places along the east coast (Jax, Vero Beach, Ft Lauderdale).
And speaking of Florida, gotta catch a flight first thing in the morning for a few days away from the cold and snow for the warmth of the keys.

Stu, I'm down in Vero Beach (where I bought the house) so as soon as I get back to CT I'll send you my resume.
Regarding moving, yes this is a permanent move. For those that frequent Off Topic, you would have seen my heartfelt thread about needing a change of pace and searching for a complete change of direction. Everyone in OT suggested that I become a college professor based on my education and skillset, but I do not think that is what I need right now.
So I decided on Florida. This visit was the culmination of a year of deep soul searching on my part and constant inveigling by one of my best friends that moved to Vero Beach 4 months ago.
I just needed to see for myself if this would work for me. I wanted to see what the state was like, (very clean), what the people were like (very polite), and if the roads were Grond friendly
So I saw a house I liked in Vero Beach and bought it. So the die is cast now; there is no going back
So as soon as I sell my house in CT, I will be moving down.
Oh, and the apparent absence of highway constabulary also had a large part in my decision
Looking forward to exploring new vistas, breaking new ground and making new friends.
EG
P.s. And count me in on all the StuzCruz's!!!
