Just got home from the San Diego Auto Show. As I walked around I picked up brochures and flyers from various auto manufacturers and aftermarket products. One business card said,"3M & Spray On Clear Bra". Has anyone heard of this? Does it last?

probally similar to the stuff a chevy dealer in fw's body shop used to use, they'd spray the car down wtih this stuff once it was washeda and dried. the stuff would adhere to the rest of the car, kinda a cloudy saran wrappy lookin material. anyway, they'd do their normal masking off etc of the repaired area (after they removed that spray on stuff of course) and the spray on stuff kept overspray off the rest of the vehicle, then they'd just pressure wash the car and it would all go away.
Definately sounds like something you'd only use short term. Say if you HAD to drive your car on salted winter roads.
If i were going to do something like that i'd rather use the sheets of stuff they put on cars for transport. youve all seen it. the white sheets of stuff they put on all the leading edges. And even only then if i were trailoring a trailor queen of a car. Which mine is not.

I'd be interested in this as well. A temporary coating can be reapplied as needed and is just the ticket some of us could use.
Meguiars has been working on this for a few years. What they are developing will NOT come off with water. It is latex based and to pull off you grab one end and peel.
The hold up at this point is the sall area in grills and others that make it hard to get it off or out in these areas.
I would guess it will be ready in a year or so.

I have something similar that my body shop sprayed at the fender well/rocker panel area (they use it on Porsches as well) -- and it does the job there, but you wouldn't want it in a really visible place like the front clip.

Thanks for the imput. Sounds like something for bugs and bugs only.
Guys,
I am about selling these next year so I wiill post soon on the forum ...
They is really great and the installation cost is low since you can have nay body shop spray it for you for may be around $100 - $150 and you would not see a seam line or very little.
It is just paint an extra clear coat on top of your car.
