Show me where your fire extinguisher is mounted. Mine is mounted right in front of the drivers seat with the bar that bolts to the seat mount bolts. I dont really like it there and would like to see some of your locations.
Thanks guys
I have a pic, don't know how to resize it for the forum. but I mounted mine right between the seats. Small one, 5 bc, on the down side (forward facing)of the wall. Looks real neat, not in the way,can eaisly get to it, and some people(dummies) think its nos. If you have an email address i can email a pic. Eaisly mounted with 3- 3/4in tech screws.

I recently installed the Brey-Krause C5 extinguisher mount and Safecraft extinguisher. I also used the billet Safecraft mount which has two billet clamps to hold the bottle in place with a pin you pull to release the bottle. I found I had to make a few mods during the install because I was not pleased with the way it went together. The problems that I found were the following:
1. The Brey-Krause mount which attaches to the seat rail mount bolts made it impossible for my floor mat to be removed (I shimmed with washers).
2. Worst of all, the forward travel of my seat is restricted (I can live with this, but if you have short legs, I would pay attention to this issue).
3. The Safecraft billet mount installed with the pin facing toward the seat. I felt if I were ever in an accident, of course my seat would be forward and I would not be able to remove the pin (had to change it to point forward).

awww folks - a word of caution about these fire extinguishers. Please keep in mind that should you be involved in an accident, these become lethal projectiles that can fly around the cabin and do serious damage to your car, you and your passenger. Please secure them properly. Additionally, most racers will only use a two strap mount to secure their extinguisher. The trunk net is NOT good enough!!

I know of a 'vette owner who had an unsecured subwoofer in the rear compartment. He is no longer with us - hit a tree, and died when the speaker fractured his skull.
