Are these actually any good, does anyone have them, do they make a difference in sound?
I relise the K&N or something simular is going to be better but are these a good replacement for now or should I just sit with stock?
I dont think I would buy a cheap filter for a CORVETTE! That just me but I cannot see it being a good filter at all. Most open air intake will make a throaty sound when you romp on them. You could buy it and use the chrome intake only and buy two round K&N for it. Or just buy a K&N replacement filter for you stock and drill a couple of holes in the cover for maximum airflow.
For the $40 shipped to the door, I would buy it just for the "Y" and get some universal K&Ns. So at least you'll know the filters will be good. The whole thing would cost a little over 100 bucks.

Don't play games with air filters, oil filters, and other fluids. Use what meets or exceeds specs. Know what you are getting. IMHO
