I will be doing the shifter in my Z next week - bought a BPP billet unit from a forum member.
I guess it is a crap shoot regarding the locking pin. If I have trouble with mine I intend to drill and tap a hole in it for a 1/4-20 screw, then screw that in and pull on the screw.
The metal "key" in the stock shift ****. I CANNOT pry it out. Even broke a couple chunks off just trying to get it to budge. Im at a loss, any suggestions?
I wheel cut my **** off, and pitched the shifter It is a weak, cheap
pot metal piece
of crap anyway, The aftermarket shifter's are so much better.
I have the Hurst, No regrets.

What I've seen work, is to grab it with a vice grips, and then pry out with screw driver. Use a thin piece of wood to protect so that the screw driver doesn;t hurt anything.
