Default Headlight motor repair

My right light motor started grinding the other day so it was time for a search on headlight repair. I found Rodney Dickman's web site www.rodneydickman.com and read his directions on figuring out what motor''s you have. My 97 had an original (bad one) and the left had been replaced (damn). I called him and discovered older motors were better than new ones. So ordered his gear rebuild kit.

This is one nice gear!!! The plastic one was stripping and his directions for the repair were well written.

Well worth the $39 plus shipping.

Took about an hour or so and its now better than new.

Thanks Rodney!!!!

I repaired my c5 headlight motor gear, put it back together and now one headlight comes up and the other goes down at the same time. Tried moving the gear 180 degree's. No difference. Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

Let the epoxy dry, if not the gear will slip, turn lights on disconnect the battery and make sure the pivot arm is the same as the other side

On that note , I've been struggling & figuring some of this on my own , kinda "hit or miss" I've sent a bunch of PM's & even just started a thread without really being sure how I did it ! Is there a place on the Forum that kinda walks a newbie through how to use all the wonderful features of the Forum that may not come instinctively to some of us "challenged" users ? Thanks for any advice !
