Got Pulled Over...

I was told I was going to jail. If i moved he would hit me with the stun gun. For speeding? Ended up with just two tickets. Got out of both of them.
Glad you only got a warning.

I appreciate the replies and I am not overly worked up about it now that I slept on it. He could have meant anything with his loosing it comment and that is the truth, and for street racing a beat up smoking RODEO? I was just trying to get out of his exhaust fumes.
There are some great Police Officers out there, but there are a small handful that get you thinking...How did he get on the force? I continue to think that once I retire from the Navy I want to be an officer of the law, or state trooper and make it up to my vette buddies, by pulling over everything but the CORVETTE!
Take care folks and hope to see Stu and Chris next Saturday!

Well ironically........I had a cop named Jordan ticket me, I fought it and he sat there bold face in court and lied. I said to him after court, with a christian name like Jordon, you would think the truth would be a part of your life.
I carried that bad experience for a long time and had a real distaste for the police force.
My grandfather was a volunteer police dispatcher back in the 50's and taught me a lot about right and wrong. To honor him I joined the volunteer police department in our town. My contribution pales in comparison to what my grandfather did.
Having now "worked" with police I have come to beter understand a lot of what they go through. This in no way justifies a bad cop. There are bad cops just as there are bad doctors, and bad drivers and bad kids.
But what I look at is, I didn't let the incident taint my entire life with a hatred toward cops. Instead, my grandfather's positive influence was the anchor I used to create a relationship with cops.
In summation, I could have remained bitter and resentful but I used this bad experience to try to make a positive out of it. There will always be "bad" people in our lives. It's how we deal with them that will develop our character in the long run. I now have police friends that I respect, and respect me and my Corvette and know not all Corvette owners are A""holes". Maybe the next time one of our cops pulls a Vette over, maybe the officer will think of me and let the Vette owner off with a warning if the situation warrants it. The break you received today on a ticket may be the result of a Vette driver that respected the law, and didn't always disrespect it.
If you speed, expect a ticket. Be grateful for a warning. Just my .02.

Yep, you did get profiled. Time to start wearing your uniform when you drive good buddy!
Well, I am not bitter towards the guy, just thought there were a lot of variables not covered, but I did drive away without a fine and that is "OKAY" with me. He probably just wanted to check out the car and that is cool with me.

Did he say he clocked you with radar or was he just pacing you and didn't even have radar on his car. Jut curious how safe one feels with a radar on board and yet every know and then someone gets pulled over and the unit never even gives a chirp.

I have several LEO friends, and they've told me giving a pass is totally their discretion. Being a big mouth takes any chance at a pass away. Good job Micah!
I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the LEO, but thank your lucky stars he warned you and left.

I've been in the same situation and this is the best advice to take to heart.

I have a relative who is chief of police in a small town in a mid-western state. How he ever got that job completely baffles me. This person enjoys hurting people and animals. He is 6'4" tall and weighs 250 pounds. He is a borderline psychopath and I pity any person he stops who even looks at him in a strange way. I grew up with him and he would just as soon tell a lie as tell the truth.
This is one reason why some of these proposed laws allowing the state to confiscate your car for street racing are so absurd. Imagine that your car can be taken solely on the word of a single police officer! Utterly rediculous. I don't think such a law would ever stand up to a legal challenge.

This may sound rotten but I always carried (and still do) my military ID in a place where the LEO had to see it when he checked my DL. That kept me from more than a few tickets.
BTW, I still haven't installed the rockerarms but as soon as the springs and pushrods get here,,,,watch out!
