very difficult to do. perhaps have the interior professionally cleaned-----btw, if you smoke, consider quitting. rumor has it it's bad for you. the smell in the corvette will be the least of your worries. best of luck. bub

Give it a good washdown. Plus I've heard you can put a bowl of white vinegar in the car and it will dissipate odors. Never tried it but they say it works.

Best way to remove smoke smell is to take your car to a detail shop with a charcoal ozone filtration/cleaner system.

They basically crack both windows and run a special hose attachment to the top of each glass. (one supplies air, one sucks it) It'll filter the smell out of the car.

That with having them steam clean the carpet and seats will work the best.

Recently I had a customer bring his volvo into my bodyshop for some work. He wanted us to see if there was something we could do with the smell of cigarettes. He had been smoking soooo long in the car that the headliner, cloth seats, dash and carpet actually had a yellow nicotine color to them.

The smell was so bad that because it was in the middle of summer (about 98 degrees outside) I actually thought I was going to vomit driving to our detail shop.

I personally don't smoke so perhaps I'm overly sensitive to the smell of smoke but I swear to God that when I picked the car up (takes 24 hours) I could hardly, I mean hardly smell cigarette smoke. I couldn't believe how well it worked.

Anyway, sorry for the long answer but HTH's.

Years ago I had a similar problem with a car I bought at an action, only it was with years of someone spilling wine on the carpet, & it smelt pewtrude. I took it to a detail shop where they kept it overnight. They set off a special smoke bomb with the windows closed, & explained to me that the smoke went after the atoms of any smell present, & destroyed them. It did work, & I paid roughly $100, & that was back in 1988.

I bought a small ozone generator on eBay for under $100 because I wanted to remove the trace odor of cigarette's from a car I bought on eBay for my wife. You know, the typical "non-smoker". Long story short, it worked great. I ran it inside the car with the windows rolled up for several hours. It took a few days for the smell of the ozone to dissipate, but the smoke smell went and never came back.

I also used this device to remove the odor of the anchovie pizza that I enjoyed one evening while my wife was out. She can't stand the smell of anchovies and when she came home, she had no idea I even had pizza for dinner.

I suggest, shampooing the carpets.

Replace your A/C filter

Spray frebreeze all over the place.

If that does not work send it to the detail shop and let them get rid of it.

There is a citrus based odor eliminator that I have used in the past. Sorry but I cannot recall the name of the stuff but it was in an orange spray bottle. Saturate the carpets, close up the car and let it "cook" in the hot sun for a day or two and the smell will be gone.

ozone.
yep a air cleaner like from shaklee.
it is a portable ozone air cleaner. try to get one from ebay, much cheaper that way. it comes with a car adtapter.
its also great for hotel rooms, if i get a smoking room i just run that in the room for a couple of hours and the smell is gone.
rgf or ecoquest makes units for rooms its amazing how these units gets the smoke smell out.

Febreze comes in two kinds. Get the one for spraying onto fabrics and surfaces, not the kind you spray in the air. I find it works very well.

Arm and Hammer baking soda solution for the carpets..

This worked 100% on a very smelly flood damaged vehicle I fixed up after Alison a few years back (when no other product would touch it).

Your problem will be the leather seats I guess. Hopefully they are not contributing too much to the smokey smell.
I am not recommending touching the seats with the same solution...
