Z51 shocks and the 2004 Z06 shocks the same?????

Do you already have a Z51 suspension? If so then the bets bang for the buck shock would be the billstein sports designed for Z51. If you have the base suspension, however, Bilstein also makes a shock for that.

I just made the change a couple weeks ago. A little stiffer ride quality, better roll control in hard corners (along with the Z06 anti-roll bars installed previously). The difference is more along the lines of what I would call an enhancement as opposed to a night and day difference. Of course "ride quality" is a very subjective thing, but I don't find it objectionable at all, mainly since I was already used to several years of Z51s. I got mine from Fichtner Chev.
Overall opinion? Glad I did it.
BTW, be prepared for that 162 lbft torque on the lower rear shock bolt thing. Also, do yourself a HUGE favor, and use a few large, substantial Ty-Wraps to hold the shocks compressed until you get them into position, then snip the T-Wrap and then guide the shock into position as it extends out. Mechanic's wire will work too but I just found it easier to work with the nylon ties. Go for it. I think you'll like them.

i thought the -06Z shocks would be equal or better, but that may not be true.
They are cheaper though...
