Default Differences between the two B & M Rippers?

beside the roughly 50 bucks?

One has a blue base and silver shaft/lever, PN 45057

other one has silver/blue base and a black shaft PN 45044 <--This one is 50 bucks more?

I was going to post links to the parts offered from Corvette Garage, but am not sure if that violates any Forum rules.

Anyone know why, differences, worth it etc.??

Thanks,
Phil

Go and and post the link if you're talking about corvettegarage, they are supporting vendors.

Blue base I was told feels a little better so thats the one I bought. Guy who runs corvettegarage is the one who recommended it to me over the more expensive one.

Edit: Installed it in about 45 minutes. A little stiff at first but it's breaking in nicely and really made a difference in the throws.

I've heard that there is a new Ripper and an old Ripper. I assume that I have the old one - it's stiff and notchy. One of my buddies has what I assume is the new one - it's a little taller and less notchy. I think it had a blue base....

The "old" Ripper is spring loaded to help positive engagement in the 1/2 3/4 5/6 gates. The new Ripper 45044 is similar to the stock shifter, it is not spring loaded and relies on the internal mechanisms of the transmission to "feel" the gates. It is a 2 piece stick with the upper rubber isolated with 2 "O" rings. To me, it still feels rubbery, but 1" shorter throw and no vibration.

Default B&M Bad Vibrations

I installed the older version in my '04 Z06. It shifts positively, but when I am giving it lots of throttle, it rattles like crazy thru all gears. Anyone else experience this?
