Lambo Doors??
I love the doors for the visual impact they have but would not have considered them if it weren't for all the shows I attend with the car.
A lot of people don't realize that the doors swing open and closed just like the stock doors without having to go vertical with them every time. You never have to raise them up for normal every day getting in and out of the car unless you're just demonstrating them.
I very seldom go to the vertical position with them unless I'm showing the car at an event.

Very easy to raise/lower to vertical position, even when setting in car.

I very seldom raise them vertical except at car shows.

GT Factory...make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing (preferably someone who has installed a kit on a corvette before) A good install will run approximately $1000. Kit costs ~$2000.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Plenty wide enough to enter/exit vehicle without swinging them up to the verical position.

these companies would sell soooo much more if they would just put a bit more effort into their product and take just a tiny bit out of their profit margin.
Like the majority of vette aftermarket acc's on the market, not just these kits, they all have that built in bull-**** corvette tax!
As far as being "crap", I haven't had that impression with mine.
Each hinge weighs in around 20 lbs and seems very well constructed.
One thing you need to be aware of is that the doors do have some up & down play in them when they're in the normal open position. You have to be sure when closing them that you don't put any downward force on the door or they can hit the striker in the door jamb area causing damage to the door.
I was aware of this quirk when I bought the kit so it wasn't a big deal for me. I'm just extra careful when closing them in that I push or pull them straight closed.
If you have a lot of different passengers that ride with you, you would need to make sure they also know the procedure. This would be an added problem if you ride a lot of people around in your car.
The only other passenger I have in my car is my girlfriend. She's fully aware of the proper closing technique, so that's one less thing for me to worry about.
I would also like to say again that these kits defiantly aren't for everyone, and I really couldn't honestly recommend them for a daily driver that hauls a lot of passengers around. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I would not have considered them if it weren't for all the shows I attend.
Also, if you do decide to purchase them, have them professionally installed by a qualified shop, as mentioned above.
A proper "professional" install is the biggest factor to how these doors are going to perform.
