bad news..... :(

Attempting to get fixed anything that wasn't damaged in the crash (yes, the dually driver is a complete idiot) is insurance fraud.
Giving the company hell won't make your situation any better. They just insure the idiot. He is not a family member. Be reasonable, tell them how long you had the car, the great, great condition it is in, and your concerns about "diminished value" for your Corvette in the future, because the car has to be repaired over their insurance customer's poor driving.
Much more effective than giving them hell and lying, although that might make you feel better in the short-term!

Hope it gets repaired quickly and to your satisfaction.

We all pay taxes and when we need the use of a civil service they should be able to ascertain fault. In Texas, it doesn't even have to be on private property, if no one gets hurts, we're supposed to exchange insurance info and go on our merry way.

Basically you'll need to convince your/his insurance company that the value of your Vette has been lessened due to the damage incurred in this situation.
How to achieve this differs with individual situations.
For example - you have a brand new Vert (say 1k miles) and an accident occurs.
After fixing the Vette you decide to sell it.
Since the CarFax will (could) have the accident noted, the value of the Vette is affected to some degree.
In this situation it is relative easy to determine the difference in sale price between your 1k mile Vette and another similar equipped and mileage Vette.
That becomes the diminished value.
Your situation is more complected due to "high" mileage.
In addition, a number of other factors would be in play if you and another similar equipped, same mileage, Vette were placed for sale.
I.e., tire(s) condition, seat wear, after market add- ons', locale of the proposed sale (prices differ in different parts of the country), etc.
Getting the picture?
So you ask, how to proceed with your/his insurance company considering all this information?
With a strong back up information basis.
First: get KKB, Edmund's, etc. list pricing for your year, model and mileage (including options).
Ask your local dealers to provide an estimate of the value they will/would place on your Vette due to the accident (after repairs of course).
The differences of the two or three computations will give you a starting point for negotiations.
Keep in mind that the larger the 'differences' you can provide, the better off you are.
The insurance company representatives (they go to a special school for this) will attempt to beat the price difference down. So, obviously, the large the amount at the start of the negotiations to more you'll end up with in the final agreement.
Hope this assists.
I had one of my Corvettes 4 months when a benz turned left into it and totaled it. I feel your pain.
Do not settle for less than new GM parts. Some insurance companies try to get you to agree to use old or inferior replacement parts.
Also, because I was not at fault going through my insurance company was the best. They looked after me, not only because of the terms of my policy but because the other insurance was paying for it. May be something to consider.
Good Luck.

But at least he had insurance. I hate it when they don't... 'cuz you know they ain't got the $$$ and it's going to a PITA to collect.
If it makes ya feel any better a friend of mine paid 10's of thousands of dollars to have an old Mercedes restored and it got smashed in the side as he drove it away from the shop. They just pushed it the 20 feet it had been driven back into the shop.

Should have went Scarface on the ****
