Now the trick would be to get GM to do that from the outset on assembly at BG...maybe if they really did appreciate the type of product they're turning out they'd take that extra step.

Brad, with all due respect - I humbly beg to differ.

Soundproofing like Dynamat etc. just adds weight which has a detrimental effect on handling and speed.

The C5 is a purpose built sports car - first and formost. It is not a Lexus or a Caddy.

And for what it is, and what it costs - I think General Motors did an EXCELLENT job.

Aye, to each his own, but it seems to me that they've added enough luxury touches that a little upgrading of the interior trim quality - fit and finish and durability against unnecessary noise - would not be out of line. There are plenty of other purpose built sports cars which are more refined in fit and finish (Porsches, for example, heresy though that may be).

really enjoy your posts with all the pics and mods, i do the same with my bikes in other forums, hope your other project with the motor swap went well, havent been on here for some time

Yes, and they cost $30,000 more than a Vette.
