If I build it myself, them I know every stud, bolt, bearing and surface is exactly as I wish. No guessing if it will withstand 25psi of boost, no guessing on longevity, no guessing on if it can withstand sustained 7500rpm....
Building it myself is much more expensive than buying a "crate motor" - but a crate motor will not do what i want it to do.
EG
p.s. plus (currently), any "crate motor" over 402ci, is an iron block.

Stephen sorry to hear about your misfortune, but in the coming months keep me up to date with whats happening. Depending on whether I'm working or not maybe I'll come down & do some wrenching with you & the guys on Grond.

That mod will be well worth it when you put some steathy widend Y2k 5 spokes with a nice set up like this...just like an old muscle car skinnys & fattys and the road race set up.
