Yes, I could do that - but - that's like buying a PC from Dell or IBM or whoever. You get a great PC - but it does not have the internal parts I want. I build all of my own PCs - same with my engine - and for the same reasons.

If I build it myself, them I know every stud, bolt, bearing and surface is exactly as I wish. No guessing if it will withstand 25psi of boost, no guessing on longevity, no guessing on if it can withstand sustained 7500rpm....

Building it myself is much more expensive than buying a "crate motor" - but a crate motor will not do what i want it to do.

EG
p.s. plus (currently), any "crate motor" over 402ci, is an iron block.

Really? I could have sworn I heard references to larger aluminum blocks, but perhaps not. OK, I understand your preferences, though. Thanx.

There are companies that make larger aluminum blocks, BUT nobody is currently using them to build crate motors.

World Products makes insane LSx block and heads - I believe more than 502ci is easily possible. But as Doje rightly said, no one makes a crate engine with a World Warhawk block/heads - nor will they ever, IMHO. The block alone cost $4000 - BARE!

Stephen sorry to hear about your misfortune, but in the coming months keep me up to date with whats happening. Depending on whether I'm working or not maybe I'll come down & do some wrenching with you & the guys on Grond.
