The GM gaskets are good, but the new engine will get Cometic head gaskets

Needs to be bent down a little to clear the blower inlet. All centrifugal blowers with a laid down radiator requires a little bending for clearance. It does not affect cooling.

I went a little overboard - it does not need to be bent as much as I bent it :bb :bb :bb

UPDATE

Pulled the passenger side headers and head

There was oil even in the headers from the blown pistons!!

Passenger side pistons look good, as expected.

Removed the Optima Yellow Top as it is being relocated to the rear right bin

Next up is the rack, ECS tensioner, a/c tensioner, crank pulley etc.

Removed water pump, ECS idler, etc.

That's all for tonight - resume teardown tomorrow night

Chris, not sure yet. I may be ready to pull the engine by this weekend. Remember, I still have Z_Rocks ECS Paxton to fix, and that will take some time on Saturday.

So let's play it by ear.

Will do...Now that i won't have a room mate, i'm going to have a heck of a time doing something with Breakaway.

The drivetrain will take us 4 hours tops. Which leaves us sunday to pull the motor
