Has anyone else had this problem or have a suggestion for a cure?
This has happened three times now in the past year. My turn signals stop working for several minutes. I flipped the turn signal lever several times and...nothing. Then all of a sudden they start working again.
Common problem with our C5s. The hazard light switch has gone bad. Next time it happens, push the hazard switch a few times. If that fixes the problem, then time for a new switch.
Good Luck
Or...there's a partly broken wire in the switch's wiring harness that runs down through the steering column. These wires get bent every time you adjust the tilt wheel. Try moving the column up and down a few times and see if the problem corrects itself.

Same thing happened to me right after I bought my C5... GMPP warranty covered it, otherwise I would have fixed it myself.
