Tino, put the plate on and take a picture to bring to court.
I say screw that law, not putting it on, haven't done so on every car I've owned and not starting now. I'm also going to drive somewhere between 5-20mph over the limit depending on conditions. Come and get me Yeah I'm a real outlaw
in most states, not having a front plate is a secondary offense - meaning that they cannot pull you over for it. Of course, what they do instead is just pull you over for something else stupid, and tack that on.
Same here in Boise, Idaho. I got nabbed for not having a front plate and not wearing my seatbelt. No excuse for not wearing my seatbelt, but the front plate thing kind of got me mad. The way I look at it is, I'm fine with with paying my $75 ticket but I no longer support the Police Charity Banquet. I figure if they want to go through the trouble of pulling me over just because I don't have a front plate even though I am a careful and responsible driver, they don't need anymore of my money. Its just dumb, even though it's the law. Some states still have only a rear plate requirement.
Put the plate on. I hated to do it but the Barney Fifes of the world will use it as an excuse to pull you on a slow day.
Get the Smoothie plate frame from a vendor sponser painted in your Vettes color and and you won't have to worry about driving through Maryberry anymore.
It's amazing how the huns come out of the cave and prove that man was really decended from apes. You're just downright rude to make that comment when it's not really warranted......LAMO! The member was only relating his experience and opinion that this front plate law is downright useless and a waste of taxpayers money. Yeah, we know it's the law and we know we're taking a chance. Many C5 owners choose not to install the front plate and they are well aware of the possible consequence, but it's a chance they're willing to take. Half the provinces in Canada and States in the U.S. do not require a front plate. Now why do you think that? It's all about money, and nothing else, when they could be policing more important community matters. Don't get me wrong, I admire the work that police do but come the end of the month they start looking to meet their 'quotas'. I would be just as pissed off as he is, law or not....it's just plain wrong. So, take some valium, have a beer, make love to an otter, or whatever floats your boat.
If it's a chance they're willing to take, then when they get caught they shouldn't complain. That's MY point.
I probably wouldn't put a front plate on mine either if my state required it, but if I got ticketed for it, then I'd figure that was just the cost of my decision, not start whining about it.
If you think cops "suck" that much, then possibly the next time you're in trouble and dial 911, maybe your plumber or your mailman will come rushing out to help you?
Sorry..but many times...Guess what..they don't come...
And it may be your neighbor that does come.
1992 in LA people were shown on tv getting pulled out of
their cars and beaten....and not a cop to be seen..people
were rescued by ordinary citizens..ie plumbers and
mailmen....and not...not the cops.
National Guard had to bring order cause LAPD was useless
and half the city was up in flames.
The police never appeared, having been ordered to withdraw for their own safety, although several assailants were later arrested and one sent to prison. Denny was rescued by black neighbors who, seeing the assault live on television, rushed to the scene.
