Window tint...Few pictures and Questions...
Well, the pictures will be uploaded shortly....
But, I just had my windows tinted..I paid 220 <a bit more than i wanted to> I sat there the whole time, while they did it. There's a number of ripples and bubbles all over the tint, both the back window and the side windows. He says give it a week and they'll be gone. I don't know why, but i'm somewhat doubtfull.
Will the bubbles really go away?
Chris
The bubbles, really don't show up in pictures.
And the car!!! Damn i love it!

I had mine tinted yesterday as well, went with a carbon film 18%. I'm seeing some bubbles also and I was told that in a few days after sitting in the sun it will tighten up and, no more bubbles.
Time will tell

I had a couple of small bubbles in mine when I picked it up from the tint shop and they told me the same thing. They suggested that I park it out in the sun for a couple of days and it would speed things up. My bubbles all went away after about 4 days or so. You might give them the benefit of doubt and wait a few days and see. If they aren't gone by then, you might have a problem.

But it sounds like there's a number of you guys who the bubbles didn't go away?
He agreed if the back has bubbles...<near the top> He will cut the tint out and put in a piece of black vinyl instead of tint.

If he has any true skills he should be able to tint over the black dots in the hatch.
I had mine tinted, what are these bubbles you speak of?

there's a few bubbles in both sides and near the top in the back.
I took pictures but they don't really show the bubbles very well.

No bubbles on mine. Sometimes if they dont get most of the water out from behind, it will look bubbly. Once the water evaperates they go away, sometimes they dont. Some shops will use a hair drier or heat gun.

I'm guessing it'll have to be redone...which sucks.
My 20% tint came out bubble free, right after it was applied. From what I observed, the trick with the dot-matrix area near the top of the rear window is to apply clear Elmer's glue below the dot matrix, before working the tint upward. The glue fills in the gaps between the dots and the tint and dries clear. I know what you're thinking...but a very highly respected tint place here in KC did it and it turned out flawless. As for bubbles else where, they should have easily been worked out -- if the person spends the required amount of time to work all the bubbles out.

Hey Chris--- :
If by bubbles you mean spectrum colored, watermark type, discoloration... then YES... THEY SHOULD GO AWAY. These are the soap/water solution which remains between the film and glass until it's fully dried.
Don't let some of these responses cause you to panic.
Dave

Park it in the sun, let it sit and then sit in you hatch, then push up on the bubbles with you thumb or fingers, you can try it with a thin cloth so you don't grease up your window with your fingers.
You can do the same for the sides, but that is usually not an issue for most, it is the black dots on the hatch that gives truble.

I'm not feeling your wheels bro... you need something in black w/ a polishshed lip to go with the rear end treatment and the tinting.
You've got that front slammed... you sure the spring isn't delaminated?
Oh... and now that stephen is a glass expert make some mini-tubs to stop those wheels from sticking out or get some flares.
It's only money man!

I really like the stance the car has, the wheels don't stick out very far in person. To stop the wheels from sticking out at all..i'd have to get new wheels
As for the wheels, i'm enjoying the 335's in the rear...I mean if you want to swap wheels straight up, i'm sure we can work something out. But i'm sick of EVERYBODY running the zo6 motorsports <only wheels i can honestly afford> I'm talking to a friend about throwing a set of waggons with some drag radials, but that would only be for friday nights.
