Camaro LS1 vs. Vette LS1
I was just wondering what the difference is between a camaro/trans-am ls1 the a corvette ls1? Why is the corvette rated at 25 more hp. Ive heard that the heads are a little bigger, but i want to know the true difference. Do the trans-am/camaro come with a manifold or a headers like the corvette?

Yes i already know about the whole camaro/trans-am being under-rated
thing, i just wanted to know the differnce. What actually about the exhaust and intake are different. I think the stock intake and TB for the camaro are 75mm? And the corvette is 78mm? Not sure though

LS1 camaros put down more RWHP due to solid rear suspension as opposed to the C5s indenpendent suspensions. Camaros/TA are built for drag racing. They are a whole lot of fun!!!

my 99vette vs my 99camaro
my 99 camaro dynoed at 273rwhp stock that was an auto and my 99 vette did 317 stock but its a manual. both had 815 heads and the ls1 intake. you cant ask for a better comparison same year same engine but one is stick and one is auto so you be the judge

Corvette got a less restrictive air intake and exhaust system. Other than that, same motor.

edit: forgot to consider the HP boost the LS1 got in 2002. That is probably why the vette is so much quicker than the TA. I did some research and the same year fbody has damn near the same 1/4 mile time as the vette.....just a slightly slower trap speed.
