I want to put snow tires on the rear and it's hard to find them in the original size. I can get a good deal on a pair of 265/40/18s. So...can anyone tell me if I can use them?
narrower snow tires are better than wider ones. more pounds per inch of contact=more traction in adverse conditions. wont be a problem for the winter use. tire rack sent me a flyer on this same subject yesterday. they have many different sizes for winter/snow tires and recomend narrower tires for it.
As long as the rear tires are at least the same diameter or larger than the front ones you should have no problems. Computor acts up when front is larger than rear.
