Default More Than You Ever Wanted to Know About Motor Oil

An interesting article by Ed Hackett comparing a wide range of motor oils. The factory recommended Mobil 1 seems to stack up pretty good against the others tested.

wow mobil 1 seemed to be the front runner overall in the 10w30 cat. i wish there was some info on the royal purple since i'll be trying it on my next change.

I use Royal Purple in my car. I wonder why it wasn't included.

Interesting, I have been using the purple stuff for 5k now and no issues

It's been said many times before - but I will only use an oil that meets or exceeds the GM 4718M standard for the Corvette, and says that on the bottle. Personal opinion of course.
