The display in my heater/air conditioner control is out. It was intermitently dim for a while and is now out completely. This is in a 2002 Z06. Any fix it ideas?

You might do a search on dual climate control display fixes. I know there have been some posts on this topic and some had good pictorials on what needed to be done if you want to try and fix it yourself.
Or, a place like the KarShop mentioned above could sell you a used one at a decent price.
I don't know if any of you have noticed this, but I have noticed on my HVAC display, that when I turn the dash lites brightness from full brightness down about 1/3, the HVAC brightness will suddenly drop to about 50% brightness. What makes this interesting, is that the HVAC brightness is not linear as are the rest of the dash lites. The HVAC display is either full brightness or 50% brightness at a sudden cut off point. (by the way, my HVAC full brightness is quite bright and is not giving me any problems) I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this peculiarity? Since reading all of the posts about dim or completely out HVAC displays, I have been using the 2/3's setting to reduce the burnout factor for my HVAC display. At this setting, the other dash lites are not dimmed appreciably.
A little soldering will probably fix your problem.. Read up and you can probably have the whole thing done in 1 hour. That's 10-15 minutes more than it would take you do drop a new unit in...
