Do more bolt ons, Throttlebody, intake manifold, headers, get a tune ect ect. But for the price of all that you can just do heads and cam and get more power than they would give you, and then do all the bolt ons

Intake, long tube headers and tune.

Also consider gears.

Headers, new intake manifold and air intake, dyno tune. That will add some ponies to your bottom line.

These cars are pretty strong from the factory and unfortunately there isn't much in the way of little (read: inexpensive) boltons that do much. A good set of headers, installed, is most of $2k, and a tune is another $500. Between the two expect maybe 25-30 rwhp. A cam install can yield quite a bit more if you choose a healthy one, and it's only a couple of hundred more. With a tune expect anywhere from 35-70 rwhp. Heads and cam done at the same time is anywhere from about $4500-6500, but most are around $6k with good heads. This also usually includes an underdrive pulley. Expect about 100 rwhp.

You might consider a set of high-ratio rocker arms. I think that with springs those run $8-900, and figure another couple hundred for install. 10-15 rwhp. But they don't work well with big cams so it's money down the drain if you buy a big cam later.

Part of the problem is that unless you do a fairly good-sized step, you'll never feel it. You can't feel 10 hp (imo).

I do agree that a set of gears would give a lot of bang for the buck in your situation. You would definitely feel that if you went up 10% or more.

If you can do your own labor then these numbers change quite a bit.

Most guys do this stuff in two to four "blocks": first is headers and CAI, no tune yet, $1500-2500 installed. Next is cam, $2500-3000 installed and tuned. Next is heads, $1700-3000 installed and re-tuned, and finally some go for the "frills" like a FAST 90/90 intake ($1500+), electric water pump ($500), etc.

Now you see how complete packages at major tuners start at about $10,500 and go up from there. Yeah, I wish it was cheaper too.
