Default roof problems

The glass roof on my 04 coupe began to develop hazing cracks which show up in certain light conditions the dealer ordered a new roof before Thanksgiving so I called them to find out the status and was told that there was 87 people waiting for new roofs to date in Fl and 15 every other day was now being shipped. Seems as though many coupe owners with painted roofs are having seperation problems and are going to glass roofs instead. Does anyone know the story with this problem?

I haven't heard of any problems with the C5 painted roof. The hazing on the see through roof is a fairly common problem with no easy fix.

There is a BIG problem with the C6 painted roof. Maybe thats what all the backorders are. The painted and clear roof for the C5 are different and are not interchangable.

Yes, the C6 roofs are coming apart and flying off the car. Big problem with C6 coupe owners right now. Haven't heard of similar problems with the C5 - only problems with that generation have been the cracking/hazing as you mention. Not a good fix for the problem other than getting a new/used roof panel.

The painted and clear roof for the C5 are different and are not interchangable. Not interchangeable, mine came with both roofs, I interchange them all the time.

I wasn't clear. In fact, I have both roofs for my C5. What I meant to say was the C5 and C6 roofs are not interchangeable.
