Bored? No way. I can't find enough time to drive it. I love working on it but I hate when it is down due to waiting for parts, etc....If I can't drive it I get anxious. I love the Ferrari 430, 360 Modena, Lambo Murcielago, Porsche cayman, and any other sexy rolling art (I have none of the above), but my Vette is MY Vette and she is part of me. Oil in my blood. As long as she and I are auto-xing, running road courses and turning heads... I AM NOT BORED. She makes me smile and my kids love her. Now.....my wife, that's another story! Just kidding.....not bored there either........ Have fun guys........
What makes the cars fun are the people - try Funfest or Bloomington Gold or some other all corvette event in your area. Plus modding, detailing and tweaking things on the car adds to the enjoyment. My $.02 anyway.
Which would be great, but I don't have the expendable cash that many on here do. The mods that have been mentioned are way too expensive for my wallet. Although it would be a lot of fun I'm sure!
Bro, your answer is right there. You can't afford to do anything to it. That's ok. I'm like that kind of, I could afford it but there is so many better things my money could be used for right now (Family first, plus I own my own biz, and I am growing my biz so i can afford any mod I want ). So I feel you. Just drive the 350hp right out of the car. There is a lot of car left in the upper rpm range, trust me. They pull like hell stock. Mine is bone-stock save for catch can.
What you need to do is drive the crap out of it, feel the exhilaration, then park it and drive a econocar for 1 week. Get back in vette and drive the crap out of it. Plus, remember if you didn't have a vette how bored you would be.
Or, get a big, lifted truck and go into the woods for a different kind of automotive fun.

Combined with banks that'll hand out a loan to any Tom, Dick, and Harry and you have too wide a spectrum of Corvette owners. They've killed the prestige.
Time for a Viper or a GT3.
maybe u should just go to a different forum.. i dont want to offend u by trying to get a loan for a vette and killing all the prestige. Deutsch

Just a thought.
less smiles per mile for sure!

Great responses! And it seems MOST of us can relate (at one time or another) to the topic of this thread. Lots of good answers here. I wanted to sell mine last year (the Wife wouldn't let me!) and later in the year I was diagnosed with a golf ball sized brain tumor that was the main reason I didn't feel like doing anything, and lost interest in the car.
There ya go...if you lost interest you PROBABLY have a brain tumor...makes perfect sense to me! (old55: glad you're OK)

If you can't cut the commute, don't want to drive it to work, clean it up and sell it in the spring. Get your money out of it and place it where it fits your future better. They don't make C5s and you have one of the best, but if it dosn't fit in- sell it and move on.
I have to admit I get tired of driving mine. With the heavy B&M shifter, bouncey ride and interior tire noise, sometimes, I just wish I was driving something else. Most of the time it is a blast drving it though. I will have to say that I have never felt tired of driving my modded 1998 E36 M3. That car is just a hoot to drive every time I get in it.
I've read this whole thread and all I can say is.... "Boo f*cking hoo".... I think your whining sounds like my 16 year old daughter....
You don't know just how good you've got it. Just think of the thousands of poor bastids that wish they could drive, or better yet, own a Corvette, but instead, they have to drive the POS that they're currently driving.... Wishing they could own a car like that.
Personally...... With all the cleaning, car payments, winter storage and not getting to drive it all the time..... I'm just glad I'm not among the "wishing"
Sometimes it takes a serious personal tragedy, or a "near miss", to get the true meaning of "life". I'm just glad I learned that lesson, from someone else's loss.... Hence, one reason why I got my Vette in the first place.... I want to "live"..... Every day!

In a way - I got to agree with this
I've owned my car a little over three years. I waited to own it a long long time. When I finally got it - I acheived my dream. I have loved Corvettes since I was four years old and owning one was all I ever talked about. Just looking at it today - tells me that I am one of a very small percentage that has realized a dream.
Now I don't have to talk about wishing I owned one - I own my dream car. I live, breath, sleep, eat, dream and think Corvette - and I could never get tired of it. I don't belong to a club, but through the ownership of this car I have met some of the finest, most generous and devoted people I've ever met - both here on the forum and in person. I consider myself lucky to call some of these people my friends. Without owning the car, I would have never met them.
I'm sorry you have lost interest and gotten tired of the car - and I have to agree that you should clean it up one more time and sell it. It's time to move on for you. I will say this though - I feel sorry for you and I feel that if you just see it as a car to drive, then you're missing something. I don't know what to tell you to do to fix this situation. That's why selling it is the best choice. It's obviously a boat anchor around your neck. It's taking up your time, your resources (money) and giving you nothing back. Get rid of it and find something that makes you happy.
i might get bored with my car from time to time, but the times when i am inbetween cars, i realize im bored with life, without a car to play with im lost and i think about that now when i get bored with the car...thoughts of selling it and saving money vanish...then thoughts of dumping more money into it and modding it take their place. why am i like this? ha ha, and to some people corvettes are "just cars"

I'm glad you're making it......
Talk about near a miss, i almost got hit in my Vette today! It was my fault, pulled out without looking and some guy about got me.
I can relate to that. Owning a vette has definitely lost its luster. It used to be Corvette owners were Corvette people. Nowadays, it's a bunch of people that just wanna go fast. That, combined with banks that'll hand out a loan to any Tom, Dick, and Harry and you have too wide a spectrum of Corvette owners. They've killed the prestige.

I bought my Z06 because I did the research and found that it was clearly the best performing DD for the money. I guess because I don't wear a Corvette Jacket, baseball cap, coffee cup, and tee-shirt while going to car shows and acting superior, or add extra Corvette symbols and name plates to my car, I'm not a "Corvette person." I'm sure GM is sorry for biulding a car that has appeal to, "too wide a spectrum." Please sell your car and go buy something overpriced and underperforming. You can resume feeling "prestigious" agian since you will probably never show up at the race track.
