If you have only used the super car Goodyears, I recommend trying the GSD3's. IMHO they are a far superior tire with a much smoother ride. And they are alot cheaper.
I put those same Michelins on my car recently and I really like them. They ride smoother than the GY and are quieter too.
I went the same route. Actually I had an interim stop in between with the Firestone RFs. I will continue to use the Michelins for my next change out. And one thing that I have noticed is that they really hold up well. They have a UTQG rating of 400 so they will last quite a while.

Just got a set from Costco, $1288.00, out the door. I haven't put them back on the car yet, because of rust removal project on hubs/rotors and repaint (I would recomend this, very rusty). Can't wait to get back on the road! I don't know what area you live in, but Kumhos & Firehawks have a " Not for use at or below freezing" warning. Just a heads up.

Not only are the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval and the Firehawk SZ50 tires rated as summer tires with the above warning so are the Goodyear F1 GS-D3's everyone is raveing about. If you might have the need to drive your Vette when the Temp is around freezing or below and you don't have a second set of tires mounted for winter driving, buy A/S tires.
