Default Update on Chicago Motor Cars

They continue to give me the runaround and make excuses. I wish I had checked this before they sold me the 2000 Corvette that had all the smog equipment removed. Just thought I would share this with the forum.

This was taken off of the BBB website regarding Chicago Motor Cars, not counting the complaint I just filed

Default time to sue

Ok, so they finally agree to take back the problematic Vette in exchange for an 03 with 48K miles if I throw in $2000. This was Parin Shaw's offer to me over a week ago. Sounds fair, right? Well, now they want $3800+ to make the deal. I said no way and contacted Karl Roth of The Roth Law Group. I will let you guys know what happens. In the meantime, if you know anyone in the market for a Vette or any sports car, steer them away from Chicago Motor Cars. They are not to be trusted!

Default update

Well they finally reimbursed me for the car, minus the $1488 in sales tax, which they claim they will return to me once they get it back from the State. I have a feeling that this portion will end up in the courts. Time will tell. This has been the WORST car buying experience I have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have terrible customer service.

I would say that you learned a valuable lesson from this and so did a lot of forum members.

As for the sales tax refund, it takes about 8 weeks to get your money back. If they don't give you the money, contact the State Sales Tax Office and show them your receipt for returning the car and they will be obligated to return your sales tax if Chicago Motor Cars does not.

I know this from my own personal experience with the State of PA when I bought a car and ended up getting a refund from seller for problems with the car.

Good Luck in your search for a new Vette.

Buying a car from this location will be the worst mistake you will ever make in your car buying days. This company falsely advertises, lies, steals and playes games with wording and money. They sold me a car they didn't own, or have the title for.

I bought my car from them and had a great experience.
I would not hesitate to buy from Perin in the future if I was looking for another car.

No issues with the car and yes the title took about 7 days to get to me. Not a big deal as they gave me Il. temp plates and I live in WI so still had to go get plates and title transfer anyways.

Sorry you had issues with them
