Painting Wheels
Has anyone ever painted their own wheels? I was looking into getting my wheels powder coated but was curious about painting them myself instead. I figured even if I messed up painting them I could still have them powder coated afterwards.

I shopped for this option last fall and both in having a body shop prep/paint mounted wheels ($900 +) or dismount and powder coat for even more. 
I'll just wait a couple more years and replace the set. I didn't like the color of my Comp Grey C6 Zs.

I have seen wheels where the person just taped off the rubber areas and took some spray paint to it and it look pretty good. Just make sure the surface is very clean, so the paint sticks properly.
I would think paint is much lighter in weight than powder coating.
