Spinning at an HPDE will scare you a bit. I've done that twince w/o issue. First time I was chasing a TT Porsche and comming through turn 1 he spun in front of me. I naturally lifted and when the rear tires unweighted from not being on the gas the car spun, luckily we were both ok... there was nothing I could have done, it was either hit him or lift and lifting made the car spin.
Second time I somehow engaged ICE MODE at the end of the back straight and the car didn't slow down enough.... I thought I was done for, but then the brakes started working again and all was well.
Like others have said it's all about being in control. Last weekend I went for a few rides (my car was down waiting on a part) in my good buddy's 513 AWHP 3000 GT... it was incredible... when you hit about 4500 rpms it was like you were slammed in the back by a semi and it screamed to 8000 like it was nothing... definately an exciting ride
