Default Squeaking/squealing upon acceleration only

I've had this problem for a while, and I cannot find any answer via searching. Upon acceleration, my car will make a fairly high-pitched squeaking/squealing noise. It sounds like it's coming from under the car or perhaps the wheel areas, not under the hood. I do not believe it to be a belt issue. I can accelerate through the squeal, meaning the sound will disappear after I hit 4,000 RPM's or so. It ONLY happens when I hit the gas, not on deceleration, braking, or idling.

Any ideas on what to check?

I have the same problem, I changed the belts, tenioner, pulleys, still squeeking. Now they tell me it could be the damper or the power steering pulley. Parts and labor about $700. And it's not 100% sure that's what the problem is. Last year I spent $500 changing parts for nothing. very fustrating. After I drive for about 10 miles and the engine, belts, pulleys are all warmed up it stops. And mine also squeels more when I accelerate. Gotta get it fixed............ it's embarassing !:o :o keep me posted if you find anything,, I'll do the same,,

actually same deal here she screams a little then tick tick tick sound when Im driving after a while the sound goes away. Seems to do this on a cold start. ANYONE .... I heard about the Power steering pully issue too. Thanks God my brother in law is a high end sports car mechanic. I have been waiting this one out instead of just buying the parts on other mods that I want first

Same problem, sound does not go away. The squeaking isn't really loud, I can't even hear it over the exhaust sometimes. Does anyone know what this might be. Had both belts changed and the ac idler pulley replaced. Tech said my harmonic balancer wasn't wobbling because I specifically told him to check.

Sure it is not coming out of the rear area of the car?
This is normally not a squeak, normally more like marbles in a can. The tick tick tick could be the same issue. When was the last time your differential fluid was changed?

I had a squeal on my car that we could not figure out. It turned out to be crank case vacuum. Just adding that to the list here, albeit I don't that is your issue here.

It's not my wheel bearings. It's a squeaking that starts at 1000-3000 rpms, exhaust/engine either drowns it out or it stops

Someone said it could be a belt slipping, because it does not squeak when idling? Not too sure about this and would rather not have to take it to a tech

Try replacing the belt itself, if it's new, try a different brand
