Anyone had their interior door skin start to separate from the foam core? The interior crease of the arm rest has bubbled out a bit. Same issue on both sides, driver and passenger side. I just noticed it today, but would be tough to see otherwise. Is it worth fixing under warranty? Will Chevy fix it under warranty?
not sure about warrenty but i have the same problem with my drivers side. I did speak with an upholstry shop and he said its better to replace then try and inject glue into the area and hold it down. He said it is hard for the glue to set in a closed area like that. I plan to get new skins soon. no one notices it but I do.
I had mine replaced under new car warranty last year. Both driver and pass side separated. Some on the forum have fixed it by using a small hypodermic needle with glue and injecting the glue and squeezing it around. Warning.... when I tried this on my wife's car (not a Vette) it looked lumpy and like crap so I am thinking a thinner glue then I used would be better. There were some posts on this about a year ago. Try a search to see if you can find it.
Well I went to the local Chevy Dealership and no dice for us 1997-2000 guys, not sure about the 2001 and newer. They said that it would be approx $750.00 for parts and $80 dollars for labor. The only thing covered is some mechanical parts and exhaust (catalitic converter) if under 80,000 or 100,000 miles depending on part. Shop around though I just found a guy after that who will do the door skins for $550 with free install. Good luck but I know whwere I am getting mine from.
